Freelancer.com joins protest against SOPA/PIPA
The Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) has been widely condemned
across the Internet since it was first proposed on October 26,
2011.
Freelancer.com believes the bill will cause irretrievable
damage to the technology industry and the hard won successes
of entrepreneurs across the globe, as well as stunting industry
growth.
We joined the worldwide protest at 12:00am EST on January 18th
to show our support for small businesses and entrepreneurs
against this threat to our industry.
Our CEO, Matt Barrie, summed it up by saying,
"We propose that proponents of this ill-conceived regulation try
innovation instead of legislation as a route to securing future
viability of their business models."
"You can't fight the Internet, you can't fight technological
progress. You must innovate or die."
